ANAEROBE SOCIETY NEWS
ANAEROBE 2024 Ann Arbor, MI USA, July 8-12, 2024
ANAEROBE 2024 will be held July 8-12, 2024 on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI USA.
ANAEROBE 2024 will address both the clinical and microbiological aspects Anaerobic Bacteriology in Human Disease. Mixing theory and practical applications, the Congress consisted of invited speakers, oral presentations, and poster presentations, representing work by researchers from over 30 countries. This meeting also provided time for networking and informal discussions of ideas.
Awards will be presented at the Congress Banquet, including The Finegold Award for Best Abstract, the Young Investigator's Awards, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Fusobacteria Symposium
ASA is a sponsor of the 1st Annual International Symposium of Fusobacteria, being held April 15, 2021 as a virtual (Zoom) conference. This meeting will consist of 13 presentations on the epidemiology, physiology, pathogenesis, and genetics of Fusobacteria. Changes in Taxonomy
Clostridium difficile is being reclassified as Clostridioides difficile. This is discussed in an Anaerobe journal article and explored more fully at Anaerobe 2018.
